On September 4, APCO filed a motion with the U.S. Court of Appeals to halt implementation of the FCC’s order permitting new unlicensed use of the 6 GHz band. Although courts rarely grant such requests, APCO took this action because the threat of harmful interference to licensed public safety microwave operations is imminent and can result in unrecoverable harm. APCO is asking the court to prevent deployment of new unlicensed devices while it considers APCO’s appeal of the FCC’s 6 GHz order.

Flagler County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office Communications Specialist McKenzie Davis talked a mother through CPR for her 6-month-old child who had stopped breathing. An hour later, she helped a family provide CPR for a 71-year-old man who was in a pool and not breathing.
