APCO News

On July 24 APCO appealed the Federal Communications Commission’s order expanding unlicensed use of the 6 GHz band in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. APCO requests the Court to find that the Commission’s order is unlawful because it failed to ensure reasonable measures to prevent and promptly identify and eliminate interference caused to public safety communications. APCO will continue to vigorously pursue all avenues to ensure its members can utilize the 6 GHz spectrum to provide essential public safety service to the public without risk of irreparable harm from interfering unlicensed users.

APCO announces the APCO Virtual Classroom, an alternative learning option that provides all the benefits of the traditional classroom but with the safety and convenience of online instruction. Virtual classroom courses are led in real-time by APCO Institute adjunct instructors and are designed to foster student interaction and engagement. An additional benefit of the virtual classroom is expedited training as students can earn their certification in a fraction of the time required by a traditional online course.

Registration is now open for Public Safety Telecommunicator (PST) 1, 7th Edition, taking place August 17-21, 2020. For this initial class, APCO members automatically receive an additional $20 discount on registration fees. For more information
