Dorothy Cave, EMD Program Manager
Dorothy Cave joined the APCO Institute in 2013 and oversees the EMD program and guidecard production. Dorothy is proud that the EMD program assists in providing lifesaving techniques to callers in need. Among the interesting projects she has worked on, Dorothy is excited to be part of the creation and launch team for the new APCO IntelliComm™ Guidecard Software, partnering with IBM Watson. Dorothy holds her Bachelor of Science in social science in criminal justice and her master’s in business administration from the University of Atlanta.

APCO received final approval from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) on September 29, 2017, for an American National Standard (ANS) that identifies Recommended Best Practices for PSAPs When Processing Vehicle Telematics Calls From Telematics Service Providers.
 
PR Newswire FirstNet and AT&T launched the first developer program geared toward America's first responders. This will encourage public safety-focused innovation to help equip first responders with state-of-the-art communications tools. It also brings public safety closer to having their own app store where they can find new solutions purpose-built for their needs.
 
The National Joint TERT Initiative, LLC, is currently accepting letters of interest for appointment to the 2018 NJTI, LLC, national committee. The 2018 service term runs from January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2018, and is renewable. Interested parties should submit a resume and brief statement (one or two paragraphs) summarizing their interest in this vital mutual aid program for 9-1-1. Submissions should be sent via email in PDF format to the two national co-chairs at cAhrens@cjtc.state.wa.us and ddemar@monroecounty.gov. The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2017.
