During a special presentation at APCO’s Emerging Technology Forum APCO Executive Director and CEO Derek Poarch described the launch and purpose of APCO Project 43: Broadband Implications for the PSAP, which will explore the impacts of broadband and provide education, guidance, and focus to PSAPs and 9-1-1 authorities. APCO's Broadband Subcommittee Working Group on identifying commercial push-to-talk (PTT) services supporting public safety seeks information from PTT service providers as it relates to how their service today meets first responder mission requirements. The working group seeks specific information from providers on products currently offered that support public safety voice communications in a broadband environment. For more information. APCO International announces the recipients of its prestigious 2016 Public Safety Communications Leadership in Policy Awards, who will be honored during APCO’s Annual Public Safety Communications Leadership Dinner in Washington, DC, on May 17, 2016.
