| October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month — we’ve put together weekly videos this month featuring cyber tips from APCO’s senior technology strategist, Megan Bixler. This week’s video is about AI threats to emergency communications systems. Bixler explains how AI can weaken cybersecurity by introducing new vulnerabilities in 9-1-1 systems where reliability and security are paramount. Have a cybersecurity success story to share? We’re looking for real-world examples where an emergency communications center (ECC) effectively prevented, mitigated or recovered from a cyber threat — demonstrating the value of proactive defense, training and collaboration. Send your story to cybersecurity@apcointl.org. Watch the video  |
