More than 250 attendees gathered in Orlando, Florida, this week at the APCO AI Summit to explore the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into emergency communications. APCO made two exciting announcements during the event:

• A new partnership with the Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies (iCERT) to launch a program promoting the responsible implementation of AI in emergency response and public safety communications systems. Sign up to participate.
• A new operational standard titled Best Practices for Artificial Intelligence Integration into the ECC, which will guide ECCs on implementing AI including, considerations for training, cybersecurity, ethics and mental health support. APCO is seeking working group members to assist with the development of this standard.
