The FCC issued an order last year announcing they are finalizing the transition to electronic only filing in the Wireless Radio Services, which includes public safety licensees. APCO strongly recommends that filers check and update their licenses and FCC registration information now, as the new rules take effect June 29, 2021.
As of the effective date of the order, the FCC will no longer print and mail paper authorizations. All notification preferences will be automatically set or reset to receive electronic licenses, and all licensees can download and print official copies of their licenses in the FCC ULS License Manager.
