Metsä to Invest EUR 7 Million in AFH Tissue Production at Mänttä Mill

Metsä Tissue, Finland, part of the Metsäliitto Group, announced that it will significantly increase its Away-from-Home tissue production capacity during "the coming years." Metsä confirmed an investment of about EUR 7 million for the Mänttä mill in Finland. The project is to be completed by the first quarter of 2012.

"By enhancing our offering and product availability, the coming investment will directly support the Katrin brand's growth targets," Christoph Zeiler, SVP, Away-from-Home, noted. "This regional investment will have a Europe-wide impact. It will help us to enlarge our foothold in our key markets and strengthen the Katrin brand presence there. Additionally, the investment will improve the Mänttä mill's cost efficiency."

Zeiler further explained that "our customers and end users are taking an ever increasing interest in good hygiene both at the workplace and in recreational settings. The investment will create opportunities for innovative new product and service concepts that we aim to fulfill with our new resources."
