SCA, Sweden, recently set a new tissue machine world speed record at its mill in Neuss, Germany. The No. 2 tissue machine at Neuss was operated for more than 24 hr at 2,200 meters per min, with a machine efficiency of 96%-plus. One of two tissue machines at the mill, No. 2, which originally started up in 1972, is not only the fastest in the world but the oldest operating in its speed range. It produces the company's Tempo handkerchief brand.
