Pudumjee Agro Industries, India, Part of the M.P. Jatia Group, has completed the rebuild of No. 6 tissue machine at its Pune city, Maharashtra state, mill. The Rupee 150 million ($3.2 million) upgrade included the installation of a new rewinder and a rebuild of the unit's wire part. Toscotec, Italy, was main supplier for the revamp, which increased the speed of No. 6 machine from 500 m/min to 750 m/min, and increased its capacity by 25% to 15,000 metric tpy. The Pune mill's other No. 7 tissue machine has a production capacity of 12,500 metric tpy. Tissue produced at the mill is both converted internally and sold in the domestic market.
