Turkish Eczacıbaşı Group: "Together We Will Heal Our Wounds"

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The Eczacıbaşı Group is devastated by the earthquakes that happened in Kahramanmaraş and deeply affected the neighboring provinces. In order to heal the wounds of the earthquake-affected regions, we are actively supporting search and rescue efforts, contributing to meeting hygiene and health related needs and providing aid, both in kind and financially.

Professional search and rescue teams have begun their work in the area
We are actively supporting the rescue efforts with our group’s professional search and rescue teams and construction equipment. In addition to the teams that are already in the region, three more professional search and rescue teams are currently on their way to offer their support.

Aid is targeting the need for hygiene and health products
In order to contribute to meeting the need for hygiene and health products in the earthquake-affected regions, we have sent Eczacıbaşı Consumer Products’ trailer truck loaded with hygiene products to the Kızılay [Red Crescent] center in Gaziantep. We also donated 150 thousand boxes of medicine through Eczacıbaşı Pharmaceuticals Marketing to be delivered to the Ministry of Health under the coordination of the Pharmaceutical Industry Employers' Union.

Employees and their families are made welcome at our facilities
Our first priority after the earthquakes, which were centered in Kahramanmaraş but deeply affected a large region, was to ensure the health and safety of our employees, their families and our business partners. We opened our regional offices and facilities to provide our employees and their families with shelter and accommodation.

Donation from group employees
The Eczacıbaşı Group made a corporate donation to a non-governmental organization that is also a member of Türkiye’s Disaster Platform. Our employees, their families and our business partners also contributed to this fund, which aims to meet the urgent needs of disaster victims in prioritized provinces, especially for shelter, heating and sanitation.

In-kind aid campaign launched
In addition to providing financial aid, we also launched an in-kind aid campaign to collect basic necessities such as food supplies, winter clothes and hygiene products and deliver them to the earthquake zone in cooperation with relevant institutions and organizations. We made this campaign available to the public via an earthquake-aid collection point we set up at Kanyon Shopping Mall in cooperation with the Şişli Municipality.

In coordination with government agencies and non-governmental organizations, we will continue to provide support in all areas where we can make a difference.
