According to Fastmarkets RISI, China’s Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing has started trial production on three new 17,000 metric tpy TMs at its mill in Jiujiang city, Jiangxi province. The units were fired up one after another between December 3 and January 1.

Provided by domestic supplier Baotuo Paper Machinery Engineering, each features a trim width of 2.85 m and a design speed of 1,300 m/min. An identical tissue machine came online at the same site in late November.

Together the quartet are part of an expansion scheme that will eventually see additional capacity of 100,000 metric tpy-plus at the Jiujiang mill. The remainder of the plan, which involves the commissioning of another pair of 17,000 metric tpy TMs, will soon be complete.

At that point the mill’s total tissue paper capacity will be over 320,000 metric tpy.
