According to Fastmarkets RISI, Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing has started trial runs on a new 17,000 metric tpy tissue PM at its existing mill in Jiujiang city, Jiangxi province, China. The unit churned out its first jumbo roll on Saturday.

Provided by domestic supplier Baotuo Paper Machinery Engineering, the machine features a trim width of 2.85 m and a design speed of 1,300 m/min. Prior to its start-up, the company had commissioned eight TMs at the Jiujiang plant in two phases. The first phase saw two 60,000 metric ton units come online in 2017.

The second included six smaller tissue machines, each with a capacity of 17,000 metric tpy. They were fired up in 2019. The newly-started TM is the first to come online in the third phase of the expansion, which will eventually see an additional capacity of 100,000 metric tpy-plus.

Two identical TMs have already been installed at the Jiujiang mill, with start-ups scheduled by the end of this year.
