Duni Group Strengthens Organization by Creating Two Business Areas: Duni and BioPak

In January 2020, a new organizational structure and segment reporting was presented as part of strengthening Duni Group's strategy with a focus on creating the most attractive customer experience. Now Duni Group has taken another step and strengthens the organization by going from two brand segments to forming two business areas: Duni and BioPak.

Current EVP finance & CFO Mats Lindroth takes over as business area manager for BioPak, while Magnus Carlsson, currently responsible for corporate development, will be the new EVP finance & CFO . The corporate development department ceases to be a management function. The roles that currently exist in corporate development largely continue to report to Carlsson in his new position.

The Duni business area will be led by Linus Lemark, currently EVP commercial, and will focus on the offering for the set table and its immediate environment. The BioPak business area will be led by Mats Lindroth and will focus on sustainable packaging solutions. The business areas are given clear responsibility for the entire value chain. Therefore, operations will cease to be a management function and instead the responsibility will be placed in each business area. IT, which was previously part of operations, will be moved to the Department of Strategic Development, where responsibility for digital development already exists.

The formation of two clear business areas means that the group will no longer have a central marketing department, which is why Clas Thott, formerly EVP marketing, has left the role and the company.

At the reorganization at the beginning of the year, a unified commercial organization was created in five regions. Each region is responsible for local sales and marketing of both Duni and BioPak brands to all customers. Regional commercial directors will report directly to the incoming president and CEO, Robert Dackeskog, but will not be part of the management team. The same applies to the area of responsibility logistics. Within the Rest of World (RoW) region, there is today a clear division between the business areas, therefore the role as commercial director RoW is changing and the responsibility for sales within the region falls under each business area.

The changes entail a non-recurring cost in the fourth quarter of 2020 of less than SEK 10 million and an annual saving of the corresponding amount. The annual savings create space for reinvestment in important areas such as sustainability and digitalization. The current financial segment report remains unchanged.
