Solenis Completes Acquisition of Paper Business of AECI's ChemSystems

Effective June 1, 2020, Solenis LLC closed on its previously announced acquisition of the paper business of ChemSystems, a division of AECI Ltd.

Headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, ChemSystems is a leading producer and supplier of specialized chemical solutions for water-intensive industries, including the pulp, paper and tissue manufacturing industries in Sub-Saharan Africa. The business will be integrated into Solenis as part of its direct-to-market strategy.

“The purchase of paper business of ChemSystems represents another milestone in Solenis’ growth strategy as we continue to clean up our channel to market following the merger with BASF’s Paper and Water business,” said John Panichella, CEO, Solenis. “We will rapidly integrate the ChemSystems business and its talented teams into Solenis and look forward to strengthening our commitment and providing value to pulp and paper customers in Sub-Saharan Africa.”
