Aowei Paper to Build New Tissue Machines in Guangdong, China

China’s Aowei Paper is going to construct two new tissue machines at its lone mill in Jiangmen city, Guangdong province. 

Domestic supplier Baotuo Paper Machinery Engineering has been signed up to provide one of the units. The machine will feature a trim width of 2.85 m and a design speed of 1,300 m/min. It will have a capacity of 20,000 mtpy, with start-up scheduled for the first half of 2020.

The other unit will be provided by Japan’s Kawanoe Zoki. It will have a capacity of 18,000 mtpy, with a trim width of 2.85 m and a design speed of 1,100 m/min. It is expected to come online in the second half of next year.

Currently the Jiangmen mill houses 20,000 mtpy of tissue capacity, but all of the existing lines have been out of production since early 2018.
