Kimberly-Clark Considering $115M Investment at Beech Island, SC, Tissue Mill

Kimberly-Clark confirmed a report it is considering an investment of $115 million at its Beech Island, SC, tissue paper mill. The Beech Island mill investment would be for over the next five years, a local press report said. The mill is the largest K-C plant in North America, WRDW said.

RISI shows Beech Island with capacity of about 264,500 tpy of bath and facial tissue and napkins on four paper machines.

The company said it appreciated consideration of an economic development abatement by Aiken County, SC, to support the potential investment.

“The investment would be used to support projects in our Family Care and Baby & Child Care businesses, where we produce trusted brands such as Kleenex, Scott, Cottonelle, Viva, Huggies, Pull-Ups and GoodNites,” the company told RISI in an email.

RISI shows the Jenks mill with capacity of about 175,280 tpy of bath tissue and towel grades on two paper machines.
