Turkish tissue producer Hayat Kimya plans to start up its second paper machine in Yelabuga, Tatarstan: the 70,000-mtpy PM 7, in December this year.

At the end of April representatives from Hayat Kimya – one of the largest consumers of virgin fiber on the Russian market – visited Ilim Group in Bratsk to discuss cooperation concerning virgin fiber supply before the launch of the machine. As a result, Hayat Kimya will increase the amount of pulp it buys from Ilim, the Russian firm said in a statement.

Deputy general director for sales of Ilim Timofey Sokolenko said: "Investments in the modernization of production allow us to meet the growing demand from our partners and at the same time keep the product quality high." Hayat Kimya’s paper group director Lütfi Aydın said that he is "sure that the virgin fiber from Bratsk will meet the quality requirements of Hayat Kimya."

Hayat Kimya already operates one tissue PM in Yelabuga, the 70,000-mtpy PM 4, which was launched in 2015.
