Tissue World Miami 2018 is slated to be the first global exhibition in 2018 to be staged at the newly renovated Miami Beach Convention Center from March 20-23. This is the ninth edition of the four-day conference (March 20-23) and trade show (March 21-23) to be held in North America and the eighth time the event has come to South Florida.

The three-day exhibition attracts over 200 companies from 21 countries and regions to showcase the latest products and technologies in the tissue business. Exhibiting companies hail from Brazil, Canada, mainland China, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Mexico, Portugal, Republic of Serbia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States.

The biennial event has more than 500 attendees already registered from over 50 countries, and a total of over 3,000 attendees are expected to spread their attention between visiting the show and attending conference sessions.

More than 40 experts from across the tissue business' value and supply chains are to share industry insights and expert knowledge during the four-day conference. In addition to current industry dynamics, business drivers such as shifts in global trade, big-data integration, economic and population trends will be critically examined during the Business & Management Day on March 20, to provide attendees a comprehensive understanding of interdependencies in today's market through a broader perception of the state of the tissue industry.

Following are a few highlights from the conference:

China’s Recycling Ban Examined during the Business and Management Day (March 21)
China’s mixed waste recycling ban is throwing globally established recycling practices, not to mention businesses, into a state of uncertainty.

The conference will examine the issue at several levels:
  • What is behind the ban and how does this fit into China’s broader industrial strategy?
  • How will the tissue supply chain react and cope?
  • What are the fiber supply repercussions?
  • In the period of disruption, are there new opportunities to explore?

Combine expert insights include Rodger Baker, vice president of strategic analysis, Stratfor; Esko Uutela, principal, RISI; and Donna Harman from the American Forest & Paper Association, with the knowledge of over 200 exhibitors providing equipment and solutions to help define your response.

Yankee Operations Workshop (March 20
In a highly competitive market where step-change improvements in the processes are typically no longer a possibility, small steps of continuous improvement are more important now than ever. An expert panel focused on continuous improvement will discuss such ideas: Yankee safety, Yankee performance, crown system, Yankees’ interaction with its technical environment and various benefits from Yankee coating products.

Technical Sessions (March 22 – 23)
Industry peers will present best practices, address challenges and provide solutions to Tissue paper production through on point and tangible presentations. Gain competitive advantages and leave each Technical Session with a deeper understanding and new ideas on: product quality, operational efficiency, energy savings, fibers, Industry 4.0, converting, chemicals, sustainability and regulatory updates.

Early bird discounts for the conference registration is valid until February 15, 2018 while the trade visitor registration is free for industry professionals.
