C&S Paper has fired up a new 30,000 tonne/yr tissue PM at its mill in Tangshan city, in China’s northern province of Hebei.

Two identical machines are expected to come on stream soon at the same site.

In November 2016, the company unveiled a scheme to bring 75,000 tonnes/yr of tissue paper capacity online there in the following three years to feed growing demand in northern and northeastern China. The project has apparently been expanded to 90,000 tonnes/yr.

Prior to the recent start-up, the Tangshan facility operated a 25,000-tonne/yr tissue line that was commissioned in 2012.

Ranked as the fourth largest tissue producer in China, C&S Paper boasts a total capacity of around 500,000 tonnes/yr at six sites.

Apart from the project at the Tangshan plant, the company is also pressing ahead with expansion plans at other mills. It plans to double its Yunfu mill’s total capacity to 240,000 tonnes/yr by adding four new tissue lines to the site, which is located in Luoding city, Guangdong province.

It is also mulling over adding 200,000 tonnes/yr of new tissue paper capacity at its Xiaogan mill in Hubei province, in central China.

It mapped out a plan to be carried out in two phases, with the first bringing 100,000 tonnes/yr of tissue paper capacity online by the end of 2019.
