SCA Logistics, Sweden, and CMP (Copenhagen Malmö Port AB), have signed a partnership agreement that makes Malmö, Sweden, a new hub in the hygiene product company’s transport network. The goods arrive by ship at CMP, where they are transhipped and sent on to customers in the region.

"We’re delighted with the partnership with SCA Logistics, who are adapting their products and goods flows in a skillful way according to market conditions. This benefits our business, which is at the heart of the Öresund region. In subsequent stages, we look forward to being able to grow volumes together with this major, well-respected customer," said Ann-Charlotte Halldén Åkeson, Key Account Manager at CMP.

RoRo ships from SCA Logistics will be calling at CMP once a week. The first one will arrive on March 20. The company provides sea and land transport services within Europe and to other markets around the world. The business is based on a network of terminals at strategic locations all over Europe. SCA Logistics is part of SCA’s Forest Products business area, which produces tissue products and paper for packaging and printing.

SCA Logistics operates RoRo services primarily with paper products. Ships travel between ports in Sweden, Germany, the U.K. and the rest of Europe. The new agreement means that CMP is now part of this transport network. In addition to ships calling at port, the partnership also includes storage and handling. In Malmö, SCA’s products will be transhipped onto trucks for onward transport to customers in the region.

"One of CMP’s strengths is the proximity to Denmark and the rest of the Öresund region. The strategic location is also one of the reasons why we have added Malmö to our transport loop," said Magnus Svensson, CEO, SCA Logistics.
