TAPPI Yankee Dryer Safety and Reliability Committee—Fall Meeting Report

The fall meeting of the TAPPI YDSRC was held on Nov. 5, 2015, at Miron Construction in Neenah, Wis. USA. The committee is working on several Technical Information Papers (TIPS) to help yankee owner/users:

Corrosion Control
Preventing Hood Burner Failures
Guidelines and Procedures for Inspections and Maintenance of Yankee Doctor Systems
Creping Blade Handling and Inspection
Yankee Dryer Dearing Design, Monitoring, and Maintenance Guidelines.

The program also included some case studies and tech talks on vacuum systems, head insulation, and internal inspection procedures. The next meeting will be April 23, 2015, in Atlanta. More information is available online.
