Feltest Capto Clamp Makes Clothing Installation Safer

Feltest Equipment BV, Loenen, the Netherlands, has designed new Capto pullers to help make the installation of felts, fabric, and dryer screens a safer job for the operators and reduce the risk of damaging fabrics during installation.

Time pressure, high temperatures, and uncomfortable positions mean that the working conditions are not ideal. The delicate forming fabrics, heavy press felts, and stiff dryer screens are high-value products that need to be handled carefully—a small tear ruins the whole fabric. The Capto gripper is developed to protect the clothing and at the same time provide operators with ease and comfort during the installation process.

At this year’s PulPaper exhibition (June, Finland) Feltest introduced the third generation of its Capto felt and fabric clamp. A new feature is the grip plates, which are now easily exchangeable, extending the useful life of the Capto. Feltest says it will soon offer new grip materials for other applications in the industry.
