Yuen Foong Yu Corp., China, has ordered four new PMP (Poland) Intelli-Tissue® 1600 machines. The order comes as part of a company announcement last year that it would invest more than $260 million in Taiwanese and Chinese mills. PMP Group had delivered three tissue machines in the past for Yuen Foong Yu’s Beijing and Yangzhou mills.

Taking all projects into consideration, the new order makes a total amount of seven complete, new PMP Group machines in the YFY fleet. The first of these Intelli-Tissue 1600 machines came on-stream in July, as planned (photo above).

The new 2.8 meter wide CF tissue machine (PM 7) has an operating speed of 1,600 m/min and a daily production capacity of 75 metric tons. It was delivered to the Yangzhou mill in China. The machine produces virgin fiber-based tissue in the basis weight range at the reel of 13-31.3 gsm for conversion into facial tissue, toilet rolls, and kitchen towels. The scope of supply covers stock preparation and the entire tissue machine (Intelli-Jet V® headbox, Intelli-Former® crescent former, Intelli-Press® with a 16-in. steel, a yankee dryer and a high efficiency steam hood, and an Intelli-Reel®). The supply also includes auxiliary systems such as mechanical drives, lubrication system, steam and condensate, dust removal system, and controls and startup services.

This was the first of four startups scheduled for 2014/2015. Both the PMP Group and YFY team effort resulted in a very fast startup and a first jumbo roll that was reeled without any paper breaks.
