Sylvie Vervoort is a Research Scientist at The Dow Chemical Company in Plastics R&D in The Netherlands. She holds a Master of Chemical Engineering Sciences from KU Leuven (Belgium) and obtained a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Mines ParisTech at Cemef (Sophia-Antipolis, France). Before joining Dow in 2006, she worked at Unilever as a post-doctoral Marie Curie Fellow. She is an expert in the field of rheology and has applied this to a diverse range of materials including food products, thermoset composites and plastics. She's also passionate about sustainability and recycling.
