New standard method: Laboratory simulation of tail-edge pick

A proposal has been made for a new standard test method: "Laboratory simulation of tail-edge pick."

The scope of the method is: This test method covers a procedure used to simulate the tail-edge wet pick phenomenon in laboratory conditions. The purpose is to determine the degree of tail-edge pick of coated papers. This test method encompasses the relation to fountain solution and print dynamic interactions with the printing ink and coated paper surface.

A Standard-Specific Interest Group (SSIG) must be formed for this proposal. Any individuals who are interested in this Standard may join the SSIG to receive ballots when this method is ready for vote.

This announcement originally ran in the February STAR, but not enough people have joined the SSIG (10 is the minimum). The deadline to respond has been extended to April 30, 2013. If you would like to join the SSIG for this project, please notify the Standards Department at standards@tappi.org or by fax at +1-770-446-6947.
