Process Improvements

We remain committed to fortifying the Standards Department and we’ll continue forward on our plan to do so. We are currently in the process of improving the Standards and TIPs publishing process, updating the Standards Guidelines and internal Standards procedures. So far in 2021, the Standards team has been able to publish 15 TIPs and advance 27 Standards to the Standards Advisory Review Group (SARG) for approval. We are also excited to share that 15 Standards ballots opened for review this month of June.

Stay tuned for more ballots opening this summer!

Volunteer Engagement - Getting the Industry Involved!

In Spring 2020, the Quality and Standards Management Committee (Q&SMC) created a Standards Engagement Task Force to promote SSIG involvement. Thanks to the efforts of the volunteers on this task force: Chris Czyryza, Dave Carlson, Colleen Walker, Dennis Crawshaw, M. Todd Popson and Mary Kombolias. There have been over 80 updates to various SSIGs including 22 individuals increasing their SSIG involvement and even new individuals have joined SSIGs. We have also worked with the task force to create more engagement collateral. Please feel free to share the flyers bellow with your friends and colleagues.

As always, thank you for all you do to support TAPPI Standards and TIPs. We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon!

TAPPI Standards guidelines require that all TAPPI members receive notification of any proposed new Standard or TIPs.
