T 546 "Machine direction grammage variation measurement (gravimetric method" is now up for five-year review. The target balloting date had been set for March 12, but prior to that date it was determined that there are currently only 8 members on the Standard-Specific Interest Group (SSIG). There must be a minimum of 10 members to constitute an SSIG.

If we cannot obtain enough SSIG members to ballot, then the Standard would be referred to the Quality and Standards Management Committee for possible withdrawal.

If you would like to see this Standard remain on the books, and if you would like to participate in the voting process, please send a message to standards@tappi.org no later than March 31, 2010.

TAPPI Standards guidelines require that all TAPPI members receive notification of any proposed new Standard or TIPs.
