Rottneros and Arctic Paper Create Joint Venture for Production of Moulded Fibre Trays
Rottneros and Arctic Paper have signed a Letter of Intent regarding a 50/50 joint venture in Kostrzyn, Poland, with the aim of building a production plant for moulded fiber trays. The investment is expected to amount to 12-15 MEUR, corresponding to approximately 120-150 MSEK.
 
Metsä Tissue's Mariestad Mill to Curtail Production of Recycled Paper Due to Raw Material Shortage
Metsä Tissue announced that its Mariestad Mill in Sweden has been forced to curtail production of recycled paper due to shortages of recycled fiber. The company said the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the availability and quality challenges in recycled raw material for tissue production.
 
Graphic Packaging Awards Order for Dryer Fabric Cleaners to ProJet
ProJet received an order for yet another Power Cleaner (dryer fabric cleaners) from Graphic Packaging. The order was received in October 2021 and the value of the order will not be disclosed.

ANDRITZ Pulp Drying Line at Bracell’s "STAR" project, Brazil, Achieves New Production World Record
The L2A pulp drying line at Bracell’s “STAR” project in Lençóis Paulista, São Paulo, supplied by ANDRITZ, has achieved a new production world record. On October 16, 2021, just 38 days after start-up, Bracell achieved a total of 4,385 air dry tons per day on a single line, which is a production world record.
 
Toscotec Starts Up Turkey’s Biggest Tissue Machine at Essel Kâğıt
Essel Kâğıt started up an AHEAD 2.2L tissue line supplied by Toscotec on a turnkey basis at its Osmaniye mill in Turkey. This is the fourth tissue machine that Toscotec fired up in a period of only three weeks in four different countries in Europe and Asia.

Stora Enso to Invest EUR 97 Million to Expand Board Production at Skoghall Mill
Stora Enso announced that it is investing EUR 97 million to expand the board production at the Skoghall site in Sweden. At the same time, Stora Enso is initiating a pre-feasibility study to convert the second, currently idle, line at its Oulu site in Finland, to a packaging board line.
 
Schumacher Packaging Commissions Voith to Rebuild PM 2 in Myszków
Schumacher Packaging, a corrugated board producer and full-range supplier of paper-based packaging solutions, has commissioned Voith to rebuild PM 2 at its Myszków site in Poland. The line is scheduled to start up again in mid-2023 after a short rebuild period.

Northern Pulp Advancing Transformation Plan
Northern Pulp is sharing an update on its commitment to using the best available technology to transform the kraft pulp mill into one of the world’s cleanest, most environmentally-focused mills. An Environmental Assessment (EA) registration document will be submitted to Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change by the end of November 2021 to start the stringent two-year Class II EA process for the transformation.
