The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) on June 11 announced that Heidi Brock, President and CEO of the Aluminum Association, will join AF&PA as its new President and CEO. We honor Art Rankin who was a member of TAPPI for 40 years and extend our sympathy and condolences to his families, colleagues and friends.

Art was active during his working career and after retirement in both TAPPI and PIMA. Art was an amazing TAPPI volunteer who invested his time and expertise with Northeast TAPPI, Lake States TAPPI and Empire State Local Sections.

Education was his life’s passion and he worked tirelessly on the Boards of Directors of the University of Minnesota Paper Science and Engineering Council and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Paper Science and Engineering Foundation. He was co-founder of the first PIMA student chapters at both schools. Throughout his career, he was honored with many service and leadership awards, which he cherished.
