TAPPI Industry Career Center: The University of Maine Seeks for the Next J. Larcom Ober Chair in Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (CBE) is seeking an outstanding scholar with teaching experience in chemical engineering and with research expertise in pulp-and-paper-related fields. The CBE at the University of Maine, Orono, Maine, invites applications for the position of the J. Larcom Ober Chair in Chemical Engineering. The Ober Chair was established in 1989 by a bequest from J. Larcom Ober, B.S. 1913. The purpose of the Endowed Chair is to promote excellence in chemical engineering with an emphasis on pulp and paper applications. The CBE department offers ABET accredited B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, and it offers M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, as well as a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. The department has 17 full-time regular faculty and teaching staff. It collaborates with faculty members in the School of Forest Resources through the Forest Bioproducts Research Institute (FBRI).
