In Memoriam: Dr. Ronald Anton Yeske


Dr. Ronald Anton Yeske, an active member of several TAPPI committees, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017. He was a TAPPI member since 1989 and served on its board of directors from 1997-2005. Ron received his Phd degree from Northwestern University, and later served as VP of the Institute of Paper Science & Technology before serving as dean of engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Dr. Yeske also retired as president of the National Council on Air & Stream Improvement Inc. (NCASI) in Research Triangle Park, N.C., with 22 years of service. He was presented with a Distinguished Service Award from the AF&PA in 2015. His services with TAPPI include participation in several sections and committee groups:

Dr. Yeske was the son of the late Anton Henry and Ann L. Yeske. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and fly fishing. Survivors include his wife, Maril Yeske; daughter Katherine Taylor; two sisters, Jo Yeske and Sheryl Allen; and three special nieces, Jennifer Noren, Jody Tranberg, and Jennifer Allen. 

A memorial service was held Sunday, June 25, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Dr. Tom Ritchie. Burial will be held at a later date at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29621, or Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 East Calhoun St.
