Central National Gottesman to Acquire Minnesota's Independent Paper Group

Central National Gottesman Inc. (CNG), Purchase, N.Y., USA, a sales and marketing organization in the global pulp, paper, and forest products industry, this week announced that its Lindenmeyr Munroe paper distribution division will acquire the business of St. Paul-based Independent Paper Group, LLC (IPG), further strengthening its sales and distribution presence in Minnesota.

IPG specializes in a wide range of paper products for the commercial printer, including digital, wide-format, and business imaging products. It is a division of Murnane Paper Company, headquartered in Elmhurst, Ill.

"We believe we will continue to have many opportunities for Lindenmeyr Munroe to expand in the Midwest, both through organic growth and via acquisition," said Andrew Wallach, CNG president and CEO. "We look forward to working with our new colleagues from IPG to help strengthen our position in the region."

Lindenmeyr Munroe President Bill Meany added that the IPG acquisition underscores his company's commitment to growth in Minnesota, home to a thriving commercial print community, and a high concentration of wide-format printers.

"Supporting commercial printers in Minnesota is very important to us," said Meany. "Adding IPG aligns perfectly with our investment last year in a state-of-the art paper distribution and converting facility in Fridley to better serve our customers."

Lindenmeyr Munroe is the largest privately held independent paper merchant in the U.S. and a leading distributor of commercial printing papers, business, and communications papers and packaging products.

The transaction is expected to close June 16, 2017.

CNG is a $5.5 billion sales and marketing organization in the global pulp, paper, tissue, packaging, and plywood industry. Founded in 1886, CNG operates through established industry entities in its Distribution, Publishing Papers, and international Central National divisions, building.
