Are Paper Machine Bearings Giving You a Headache? Learn New Solutions for Challenging Conditions and Repair Options
TAPPI’s Papermaking Technology and Operations Committee (PTOC) is organizing a new informational webinar focused on how paper machines present challenging operational and environmental conditions for rolling element bearings. Large paper web widths, wide spans, and high speeds require high precision bearings that can accommodate misalignment. The high moisture content in the environment of the wet end section and the high operating temperatures and rapid heating in the dryer section place stringent requirements on bearing designs, seals, and lubrication requirements.
Meet the Speaker: Trevor Slack has been with American Roller Bearing since 2012 and has served in a variety of roles including bearing analysis program development and application engineering support. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Master’s and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. His graduate research focused on developing dynamic models of translating media in web handling equipment and predictive models for rolling contact fatigue in bearings.
