Gain Knowledge in Designing Plant-Based Functional Materials Towards Carbon-Negative Applications
TAPPI’s Nano Division is organizing an informational webinar focused on how recent developments towards resource-wise societies and use of renewable materials have created a strong incentive to utilize biomass-derived materials as an alternative to oil-based polymers. These materials combine large volumes, low cost and a range of unique functional properties depending on the composition of the starting biomaterial. Jaana Vapaavuori, Assistant Professor at Aalto University in Finland, will host the Designing Plant-Based Materials Towards Carbon-Negative Applications webinar on Thursday, May 25 from 9 AM – 10 AM (ET). Professor Vapaavuori will discuss supercapacitors and self-cleaning light-management layers for third generation photovoltaics as examples of their implementation to emerging applications, as well as showcase how biowaste can be converted into carbon-negative sound absorption and insulation materials. Webinar attendance is free and open to everyone, but registration is required. Sign up today! Meet the Presenter: Jaana Vapaavuori
