Kadant has completed the acquisition of Babbini S.p.A. and G.P.S. Engineering S.r.l., two Italy-based companies specializing in industrial dewatering and engineered power transmission solutions.

Founded in 1945 and headquartered in Civitella di Romagna, Italy, Babbini is a recognized leader in screw press technology and dewatering applications across multiple industrial sectors. Based in Legnano, Italy, GPS Engineering complements Babbini’s offering with advanced system integration expertise and the production of custom gearboxes for demanding industrial uses.

The two companies have collaborated with Kadant since 2019, delivering innovative dewatering technologies that support Kadant’s upcycling solutions. Both companies will now become part of Kadant’s Industrial Processing segment.

“Acquiring Babbini and GPS Engineering broadens our portfolio and extends our reach into adjacent markets such as agriculture, food and beverage, and rendering,” stated Jeffrey L. Powell, president and chief executive officer of Kadant. “These businesses provide resource-efficient solutions that align perfectly with our commitment to sustainable industrial processing.”

Simone Bianchi, managing director of Babbini, added: “Our company has a proud legacy of innovation in dewatering technologies for a wide variety of applications. Partnering with Kadant has already opened new market opportunities for us, and becoming part of a global industrial processing leader will allow us to further accelerate our growth.”
