With sustainability firmly embedded at the core of its business strategy, Lecta has published its 2024 Sustainability Report, highlighting significant progress towards its long-term ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) goals for 2030. The report outlines Lecta’s contribution to 11 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reaffirming its commitment to responsible and sustainable growth across all areas of operation.
“Lecta has made significant progress in sustainability this year, earning external recognition from organizations such as EcoVadis and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). As we continue working towards our 2030 ESG targets, we remain focused on delivering a positive impact and building a more sustainable future for the next generations,” said Gilles Van Nieuwenhuyzen, CEO of Lecta.
On the environmental front, the validation by SBTi of Lecta’s targets to reduce Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions marks a major milestone in the company’s decarbonization efforts and commitment to climate action. Additionally, Lecta received a Platinum Medal from EcoVadis, placing the company in the top 1% of all rated businesses globally—a prestigious recognition of its ESG achievements.
The report also covers Lecta’s initiatives in social and governance areas, emphasizing the company’s unwavering focus on employee health and safety across all its operations. Furthermore, Lecta has strengthened its ethical and sustainability framework through the implementation of a Supplier Code of Conduct, which complements its Code of Ethics and recently updated Sustainability Policy.
Lecta highlights the importance of collaboration throughout the value chain, stating that the commitment of its suppliers is vital to advancing its sustainability objectives. The theme of the 2024 Sustainability Report is “Creating harmony”, drawing an analogy with music to reflect how precision, creativity, and coordination across all teams contribute to the company’s unified sustainability mission.
