Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

AV Terrace Bay announced the temporary idling of its pulp operations in Terrace Bay, Ontario, Canada, with immediate effect.

The company said idling of the mill is "due to prevailing market conditions" and "will affect approximately four hundred employees."
The pulp mill is located on the north shore of Lake Superior and produces 320,000 Air Dry Metric Tons of Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft (NBSK) pulp.

The mill will be put into a state of warm idle to facilitate a possible future restart, AV Terrace Bay said.

The Terrace Bay mill is part of Grasim Industries Ltd, an Aditya Birla Group company.
