Two Sides announced its newest member, the European Manufacturers Paper Honeycomb Association (EMPHA), the pan-European association for manufacturers of paper honeycomb core and paper honeycomb board products.

Packaging and product design, inspired by trees and bees. Founded in Amsterdam in 2010, EMPHA aims to represent the paper honeycomb core industry.

Paper honeycomb, or simply 'Honeycomb' as it is addressed informally, has the best-in-class characteristics through the combination of superior strength and rigidity because of its unique form of hexagonal shaped cells. The strength and rigidity are paired with extreme low aerial weight per cubic metre. These functional elements make paper honeycomb an attractive alternative for designers of protective packaging or as the base material for the production of doors, acoustic walls, exhibition panels and even furniture.

"The EMPHA is delighted to become a member and support Two Sides," said Tony Moscrop, President of EMPHA. "We provide a platform for members involved in the manufacturing of paper honeycomb core, in Europe, to source industry information including legislative issues.

"One important area of information for our members is sustainability. We want our members to be able to inform their clients and customers of the sustainable attributes of our products and that our industry is committed to be part of the circular economy. Our partnership with Two Sides will allow us to use a variety of facts and stats to help us do just that," Moscrop explained.

Ian Bates, European Marketing and Partnership Director of Two Sides, said, "Welcoming new members on board is always a pleasure. Our partnership with the EMPHA will help us communicate the great sustainable story the paper honeycomb industry has to tell, to brands and businesses that must be informed about the positive environmental attributes of paper-based packaging. We look forward to working with the EMPHA moving forward."

By joining Two Sides, the EMPHA has access to a large library of co-brandable communications tools, consumer research, industry-leading information, sustainability advice, and events.
