Jamie Tiralla, Director of Strategic Communication at AF&PA, to Keynote PEERS 2023

TAPPI has announced that Jamie Tiralla, Director of Strategic Communications at the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA), will be the keynote speaker at this year's Pulping, Engineering, Environmental, Recycling and Sustainability (PEERS) Conference. The event will be held November 5-8, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Atlanta, Ga., bringing together professionals and experts from the pulp, paper, and related industries to discuss the latest developments, innovations, and challenges facing the sector.

Jamie Tiralla's keynote presentation is titled “Advancing the Industry’s Sustainability Achievement Through Collaboration & Partnerships.” Her topic aligns with the conference’s focus on focus on sustainability and innovative solutions within the pulp and paper industry.

Tiralla will delve into the critical role that collaboration between industry partners and other stakeholders play in driving the pulp and paper industry toward a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future. She will share insight into how the forest products industry has made significant progress towards advancing sustainability since the launch of AF&PAs Better Practices, Better Planet initiative. Attendees will leave with a greater understanding of how AF&PA shapes sustainability messaging that connects with policy influencers, and how the industry can work together to achieve common sustainability goals and reduce their overall environmental impact.

As the Director of Strategic Communications at AF&PA, Tiralla helps coordinate the association’s sustainability program, Better Practices, Better Planet 2030: Sustainable Products for a Sustainable Future. She also oversees AF&PA’s brand and provides leadership for sustainability communication across the association.

2023 offers an exhibit floor with industry leaders revealing their latest technologies. This is a great opportunity for mills to discuss their specific problems face-to-face with key suppliers/companies. PEERS/IBBC also features a New Technology Showcase which highlights new innovations and advancements developed by exhibitors selected for the Showcase.
