Make Your CorrExpo 2023 Experience Legendary
Register today for the one-day workshop Effective Methods to Maximize Diecutting Productivity Workshop led by industry legend, expert and Diecutting Hall of Famer Rick Putch.

Industry Rock Star with Hall of Fame Qualifications
Rick Putch has 45 years of experience in diemaking and packaging industries. His expertise spans all aspects of paper conversion: diemaking, diecutting, packaging design and materials testing.

Rick has worked as a pressman, business owner, and in executive management, and has taught classes for TAPPI, AICC, ACCCSA, and IADD. Additionally, he has written technical papers for an assortment of trade publications. Rick has conducted best practices training on corrugated finishing and efficient package design for corporations in 35 countries and 10 different language translations. He is regarded as a world-class expert on evaluating manufacturing processes for new product concepts and for resolving production issues on a wide variety of manufactured products produced with steel rule cutting dies.

The curriculum is designed to enable you to better comprehend how equipment differences, general maintenance needs, and subtle structural design differences influence quality and profitability for corrugated converters. By developing a deeper awareness of how establishing a tool readiness program increases uptime and reduces waste; which offers a better understanding of machine limitations on all sorts of flatbed and rotary diecutters. These skills are key to:

  • Distinguish differences in various flatbed diecutters
  • Create accurate specifications for rotary diecutters and FFG
  • Recognize pitfalls in structural designs that limit diecutting efficiency
  • Indicate how key maintenance practices on the diecutters increase uptime and reduce waste
  • Identify influential factors of dimensional variation in rotary diecutting
  • Implement a tool readiness program to drastically reduces idle time in your converting processes
