Job Summary: The Production Supervisor is a high-profile position responsible for managing production colleagues and ensuring proper equipment utilization to meet or exceed safety, quality, cost, productivity, and housekeeping targets. For the right candidate, this position offers opportunity for advancement in the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Incorporates and maintains safety observances, ensuring guards and safety features are working and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.
  • Supervises plant colleagues and daily operation of the plant.
  • Delegates plant assignments and job schedules.
  • Oversees the stock preparation and paper machine operations as well as shipping and receiving.
  • Facilitates the day-to-day activities within the mill interacting with other departments.
  • Prepares and evaluates required production reporting, paperwork, and communications, etc.
  • Provides training and leadership to plant colleagues.
  • Attends and/or participates in meetings.
  • Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, motivates colleagues, and reviews the performance of colleagues.
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule operating in a 24/7 environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated focus on safety and quality
  • Ability to lead a team, prioritize and organize shift activities.
  • Team oriented
  • Good leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated methodical ability to trouble shoot and problem-solve.
  • Solid interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Good computer skills
  • Knowledge of machinery and the operation process a plus.

Education: Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant experience, with experience leading colleagues.
