William E. Scott (widely known as Bill Scott) of Oxford, Ohio, passed away on May 27, 2022, at the age of 82. Before departing, he decided to donate his body to science.

Dr. Bill Scott was quite active in TAPPI’s Paper and Board Division. He was a TAPPI Fellow for 31 years and obtained the Leadership & Service Award in 1991 and the Technical Award & Harris O. Ware Prize in 1998. He authored and co-authored many articles, papers and books including Principles of Wet End Chemistry.

Bill was loved and cherished by many friends and family. He made such a positive impact in the lives of many. Bill predeceased his lovely wife Ginny and daughters. Any desire to honor Bill can be done through a donation to the Bill Scott Honorary Scholarship Endowment, which was established three years ago.
