At all TAPPI face-to-face events, we will implement the health and safety practices as issued by state and local authorities including the venue and the CDC. We recommend that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have a negative test within 3 days of attending an event. We will require face coverings while indoors and maintain social distancing when possible. We will continue to provide updates on any changes as they become available.

 

2022 Spring Meeting April 4-6, 2022 – Atlanta, GA

The BLRBAC is a “Trade Association” that exists for the purpose of sharing knowledge and generating and maintaining guidelines to help facilitate the safe, reliable operation of Black Liquor Recovery Boilers.

Message from the Chair: We are preparing for an in person BLRBAC meeting. The dates are April 4th-6th. It will be in the same place, Sonesta Hotel (formally the Crowne Plaza) in Atlanta, GA. I have enclosed the agenda and a registration link. We hope you all can make it. I know a lot of members have been patiently waiting for the organization to get back to having in person meetings. We always have great attendance at our meetings. Please spread the word about the meeting throughout your organization. Look forward to seeing you all in person at our Spring meeting. HCl Gas: A Versatile Catalyst for Retrieving Nanocellulose and Sugars form Biomass – Nano Webinar (Free)

While acid hydrolysis can be seen as an outdated or, at best, traditional means of degrading cellulose into nanocrystals or sugars, the use of HCl gas has demonstrated viable, modern pathways to added value products from biomass. This webinar summarizes the application of HCl gas on diverse cellulosic substrates, including various cellulose polymorphs, solid wood, bacterial cellulose, holocellulose, and agricultural residues. Processes leading directly into high yields of nanocrystals are presented.
