The Navigator Company to Increase Prices for Its UWF Paper in Jan. 2022

The Navigator Company announced that it will increase the list price for all of its UWF (Uncoated Woodfree) paper products by 10-15 percent, effective with shipments from January 3, 2022, onwards.

This price increase for paper also includes an increase of a surcharge, which the company first implemented on October 15. The surcharge will rise from 50 EUR/ton to 100 EUR/ton.

The Navigator Company explained that since the previously announced price increases on October 15, the industry has been continuously facing additional variable cost increases, particularly in energy and logistics, which are also leading to increases in the majority of other commodities, such as chemicals and packaging materials. Additionally, the company is witnessing a significant increase in demand for its products and brands, which has lead to a record in its order book.

"Reflecting the volatility of the current market conditions, the surcharge will be revised on a monthly basis and the price list will have a maximum validity of two months. Navigator will not be able to keep its usual four-week pre-notice for price list changes," the company said.

"Navigator understands that these circumstances are extremely challenging and genuinely appreciates the trust of its commercial partners during this challenging period we are all living," the company concluded.
