In Memoriam: TAPPI Member, Burton Judson (1978 - 2021)

Burton Moore Judson, Jr., 83, of Willoughby, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2021. A memorial service was held on Saturday November 27, 2021 at Willoughby United Methodist Church. Burt was born April 27, 1938 and was a lifelong resident of Willoughby. Graduating from Case Institute of Technology in 1961, he went to work for Reliance Electric/ Rockwell Automation where he worked until his retirement 53 years later. He was a pillar in his profession, church, community and family. His contagious, heartwarming smile and hearty booming laugh will be greatly missed by many.

Burt was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Marianne (Ranta) Judson. Their children are Kristine and Brian Knotts, Burton and Liz (Wilson) Judson, Paul and Colleen (Smith) Judson. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Carr) and her children Brian Love and Sybille Miller. Burt was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Willoughby United Methodist Church.

Burt was a part of a few divisions and committees at TAPPI, including the 2004 Spring Technical Program Committee, the Process Control Division Council and a few TAPPI local sections. His presence and expertise will truly be missed.
