Join us October 4-8, 2021 on the campus of North Carolina State University for the popular Hands-On Workshop for Pulp and Paper Basics. Through a combination of presentations and hands-on laboratory and pilot-plant exercises you will gain a solid overview of how pulping, bleaching, chemical recovery, recycling, papermaking and converting work.

Co-sponsored by TAPPI and NCSU, this introductory-level workshop is designed to help operators, technicians, sales and service staff better understand the basics of how the processes work, give them a wider scope of knowledge, and help them do their jobs more effectively.

You'll learn the structure and chemistry of wood, chemical and mechanical pulping operation and processes; the importance of chemical recovery in a pulp mill as well as waste treatment and  environmental regulation.  Additionally, you will learn the furnishes for papermaking, stock preparation, papermaking, coating and converting, and paper recycling.
