Dive into the Complexities of Vapor Sorption Techniques

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Two well established methods for investigating the interaction of vapor molecules with a wide range of solid materials are: Dynamic Vapor Sorption (DVS) and Inverse Gas Chromatography (IGC SEA). Did you know that adsorption and desorption isotherms and surface energy data can be used to study bulk and surface properties of solid-state materials?

Application Engineer, Meishan Guo will host the TAPPI Nano Division’s Understanding bulk and surface properties of complex solid-state materials through Vapor Sorption Techniques webinar on Tuesday, September 7th 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM (EDT) to elaborate on methods and vapor molecules with a wide range of solid materials. Guo will cover several examples of using water and organic vapors to study polymers, packaging materials, nanocellulose and biomaterials.

This TAPPI Nano Division webinar may be of interest to those in the cellulose and paper, fibres and fillers, polymers and packaging, coatings and thin films, energy and environmental as well as building materials fields. Participants of this webinar will be able to identify areas in their research that can utilize vapor sorption techniques and describe the parameters that can be measured using vapor sorption techniques.

Webinar attendance is free and open to everyone, but registration is required. Reserve your space today!

Meet Presenter: Meishan Guo
Application Engineer
Surface Measurement Systems Ltd.

Meishan is an Application Engineer in Surface Measurement Systems. Since joining SMS in 2018, She has been working on surface characterization of solid materials, including fibre, powder and film samples, using Dynamic Vapour Sorption (DVS) and Inverse Gas Chromatography (IGC-SEA) as the techniques. Meishan obtained her Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London in December 2017. Her research project was focused on investigating the properties of fragrance molecules with solid substrates by diffusion and sorption. She also received her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Technology at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and in Chemistry at Sun Yat-sen University in June 2016.

Register today for the Understanding bulk and surface properties of complex solid-state materials through Vapor Sorption Techniques webinar on Tuesday, September 7th 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM (EDT) | 2:00 PM (CET).

Webinar attendance is free and open to everyone, but registration is required.
