“If You See Something. Say Something.” That is the mantra of Candace Carnahan, keynote speaker at PPSA’s 77th Annual Health and Safety Conference. Carnahan is an advocate for safety in the workplace and has worked with multi-national corporations across a number of industries including manufacturing, healthcare, oil and gas, and transportation, and has trained CEOs, government departments, and employees to think differently about safety.

“Efforts towards advancing health and safety standards, and improving education and awareness, have resulted in a positive shift in our workplace culture. Yet each and every day, families, communities, and organizations continue to experience loss and pain due to preventable workplace injuries and fatalities,” stresses Carnahan.

By sharing her own life-changing experience of losing her leg at age 21 in a workplace incident, Carnahan inspires teams to “find their voice, and to look at everyday decisions as directly related to the potential impact on workers and their families.” Carnahan believes safety is an attitude, a state of mind, and a way of life.

Conference attendees can hear Candace Carnahan’s keynote presentation on Monday, October 18.
