Help Shape the Biomass Industry

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

With ongoing concern about the world’s dependency on fossil fuels, it is no wonder that the role of biomass as an energy source is expanding. It has great potential to provide renewable energy for America’s future. Biomass fuels and products can reduce the need for oil and gas imports and help support the growth of agriculture and forestry economies. But as the biomass industry emerges on the global stage, it is important for leaders to share their knowledge and experience to further foster its growth.

TAPPI’s International Bioenergy and Bioproducts Conference (IBBC), November 7-10, 2021 in Atlanta, GA, focuses on new technologies using renewable materials from biomass to produce chemicals, polymers and fuels to support the growing bioeconomy through sustainable biorefinery. Industry experts are asked to share their knowledge and expertise as a speaker at IBBC and help shape the future of the industry. Abstracts should be submitted by March 15, 2021 to TAPPI's Speaker Management System.

Suggested topics include:

  • Innovative Bioproducts and Biopolymers from Biomass
    • Lignin Recovery and New Products
    • Bio-based Polymers, Chemicals and Products
  • Biomass Conversion Pathways
    • Innovative Technologies to Transform Biomass
  • Supporting the Sustainable Bioeconomy
    • Leveraging Pulp Mill Assets
    • Biomass Utilization and Sustainability Assessments

IBBC 2021

IBBC brings together experts from around the world that are interested in leveraging the knowledge and assets in the pulp and paper industry to produce fuel, energy, and chemicals from biomass. Known as one of the leading technical conferences in the industry, the Conference offers attendees a comprehensive technical program focused on topics associated with biomass. Developed by industry professionals, IBBC peer-reviewed sessions are expert-led and include high-level discussions on key topics critical in today's current climate. Learn more at tappi-ibbc.org.

Student Poster Session and Competition

IBBC also offers a Student Poster Session and Competition designed especially for students and young professionals, giving them the opportunity to get industry input on their projects as well as gain exposure for their research. Poster abstracts are due March 15. For suggested topics and abstract submittal information, click here.

IBBC 2021 is co-located with TAPPI’s Pulping, Engineering, Environmental, Recycling and Sustainability (PEERS) Conference. PEERS is also accepting abstracts for their technical program. Learn more.

The Deadline to submit abstracts for both Conferences is March 15, 2021.
